Hey there,

I hope you guys can answer my question -- and that you don't mind me asking here :).

I've always been fascinated by forensics and crime scene ..stuff.

I'm writing a short story in which a twin murders her identical twin and then takes her twins identity and fakes her own death.

So, my question is -- if a forensic investigator tested an identical twin (presumably DNA? fingerprints? I'm fairly uneducated about this now I come to think about it...) is there any way to distinguish between two twins that are identical? If yes, how?

Other than in the interest for my story, it's actually an interesting idea...

Greetings all, I'm studying for a BSc(Hons) in Forensic Science in England. I just thought I'd drop by and say hello. So is everone here mainly into Scene Investigation, or are there some lab techs here too?

I think the system in Britain is very different from the US.

I am a CJ with concentration in forensic investigations student. I need to "interview" some people who are currently or have been employed in the law enforcement field, especially those involved in scene investigation, sex crimes, or drug investigations. If you are willing to take ten to fifteen minutes to fill out a survey, please comment. You must have actual experience in the field. You can not be a student. If you have no experience in those particular areas, but are in law enforcement, general information on your current and past positions is greatly appreciated.

x-posted to various locations, sorry if I get you twice.
